Can you post a photo? There are different types and that would give us a better idea of how to help.

I have a tall long one that is designed to hold 4 or 5 plates. I plan to use mine in the bathroom to hold rolled-up towels when I re-do the bathroom. You could use it in a mudroom to hold gloves, hats and scarves as well.

Savvy ISavannah gave you some great ideas. I've used them to change out family photos, hold a recipe book open with towels and measuring spoons hanging from the other holders. Have fun on the experimenting journey.

depends on how wide the slots are....guessing you are NOT wanting to hang it as a plate hanger? is it metal or plastic or wood? depending on the width of the spaces gives ideas what you can use it for? agree with others... is there photo available? If I had one that was wood I think I would paint it white and find some way to use it in my cottage style house with plates or pie plates or something like that...
