I am interested in finding an evergreen tree that is native to Delaware that is small to mid-size. Also need to have root system that would not be a problem for plumbing & utilities buried under ground - new construction.

Do like so many have done up there, plant a pink and a white dogwood together. It's absolutely beautiful and they don't get too tall. Be sure and get some peonies also. They're so wonderful!
Red Cedars are native to Delaware. Also, most varieties of Holly will grow well in De. soil. Many varieties of Crepe Myrtle with colorful flowers grow very well in De.
