Help with cleaning my wood floors!

There most likely is a residue left in certain spots. Try re-washing with white vinegar and water or dab the spots with plain white toothpaste rubbing in a circular motion and wiping off and follow with a regular cleaning with the Bona mop system for wood flooring.

I agree with Janet. It probably the towel is not picking up all the cleaner. I like to use Bona or Murphy's Oil Soap with a sponge mop.

I found the wet swiffers left my floor dull.

I'm using dry stiffens.

If you are using a towel that has been dried with a fabric softener sheet, it's putting an oily chemical on your floor.

I have the same problem with my wood floors and I called Bona and they told me that if you use a swiffer to dust your floors they will leave a waxy residue on the floor that is very difficult to remove, my first mistake, also if you use terrycloth mop heads and use any kind of fabric softener it will also leave a oily mess on your floors, my second mistake! The company recommended to wash the floor with white vinegar and water to remove the residue and use cloth dusters that have not been washed or dried with fabric softeners. Also a side note, and a bonus, not using fabric softeners of any kind will extend the life of your towels and will make them more absorbent!!

I use a squirt on stream of floor cleaner esp made for hardwood floors. I have never had this problem. I use a rag of terry cloth toweling and shove it around with an old implement with a long handle and a head. I do not use fabric softener or sheets when I do a load of rags.
