You can totally change a room with a fresh coat of paint.

To give your room a fresh new look choose the largest wall and paint it with a accent color followed by the lighter version on the remaining walls.

I'm not insulting your housekeeping. Get a bottle of Awesome cleaner at the dollar store. Open your windows wide and try cleaning in an unobtrusive place (back of headboard). With a rag, not a sponge. Then "rinse" thoroughly with a rag and clear water. Then a denatured alcohol wipe. Or some use TSP (check recommendation on google). both need thorough rinsing.

We would all be shocked at how years of dust and stuff accumulate on even vertical surfaces. If our walls get grimy, why not the furniture? If that doesn't work, there are a world of great comforters that look great with pale yellow.

this has nothing to do with bad housekeeping. I'm guessing your furniture was painted with white oil based paint. Because it's an oil base, this white paint will turn yellowish just like oil based varnish does. To solve this, I would give it 2 coats of same paint after cleaning and sanding lightly. If you find this too overwhelming to paint all your furniture you can paint the wall with warm colors, wall of the headboard , paint it darker. I would also stay away from white as this will make your yellow furniture look worst. Good luck!

I would repaint the furniture - another color, so many other colors out there to choose from now - not just wood and white for bedroom suites! Go with cream, grey, or blue, look at your walls and see if it is time to repaint them as well, and maybe some new bedding too! Embrace the new year with a new bedroom!
