I need advice for painting crisp lines with painter's tape!

A great tip I saw for getting perfectly straight lines is to first go over the edges of the painters tape with a light layer of decoupage! It "bleeds" in all of the locations that the paint would have bled. Then when you remove the tape, you'll have a crisp line. Good Luck!

Use something like a credit card to smooth out the edges. Then aplly a light coat of paint along the edge. It will seal the edge.

I paint the entire wall, install painters tape for the desired lines then I paint over the edge of the tape with the original colour. After it's dry I paint the stripe colour. This seals the edge and the edges will be perfect. trick I learned from my painter friend Serge!!

Do as William has stated, but, make sure the surface is CLEAN & Dust free. After painting (lightly) over the edge to "seal" , wait about 10-15 minuets for the paint to dry "tacky" but not completely before slowly pulling off the tape. Good luck with that, and HAPPY PAINTING!

Best technique I've used is to smooth tape & then paint a light coat of the same color UNDER the tape. This way the color that bleeds is the color already under the tape. The new color will have no way to get under the tape so you end up with a nice line. Happy painting 😎

I USE MASKING TAPE MYSELF. I SEEM TO HAVE BETTER LUCK WITH IT. I PRESS IT DOWN AND NO BLEEDING
