I need ideas to replace front yard landscaping.

Will there be someone on hand to give ideas for low maintenance shrubs and plants?

I'm sure there will, Lucinda, but you can also get ideas right here. Many people are looking to make changes in their landscapes because of the damage from cold the last couple of years and because of the water restrictions that are now a fact of life. Both of these things make native plants very attractive because these are plants that are used to the extremes our weather can bring: full sun and intense heat in the summer and below-freezing temperatures in the winter. They also are used ...»
    to our fluctuations in water.

Some of my favorites are wax myrtle (Myrica cerifera), Simpson stopper (Myrcianthes fragrans), Walter's viburnum (Viburnum obovatum) and coontie (Zamia pumila). If you are looking for a tree, consider one of our native hollies or the Southern magnolia. All of these would be welcome additions to your yard.
