I don't know the recipe, but something I do that is simple/inexpensive/quick is to put a pot of water on the stove then add ingredients for the particular time of year you want. In the fall I put orange slices and a bit of pumpkin spice or cinnamon sticks. At Christmas time I go more with cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves. I will toss some orange slices in with this combo and it smells heavenly. Just keep refilling the water and let it simmer on the stove. It's fragrant throughout the house.
