Hi Hometalkers! :)
I have lots of really pretty 5" fabric squares I'd love to use. I don't sew, but I'd love to make something with these.
Any ideas for me?

Can you decoupage them onto a basket, a tray, or a box of some sort?

Go to the computer, ask for quilt directions using 5 inch squares. Lots of patterns.

I wish I could see a picture of what you have and how many there are. A picture would allow us to see the variations in pattern, color, texture, contrast or match- ability. Depending on how well they work together, sew 16 of them together in four rows of four for an interesting pillow cover is one idea.

Hi Janet. I have a stack of about 50 of them.

I had decoupaged some onto a candle for Christmas, & a plate. Being in don't sew, I'm always searching for unique ways to use them.

You can cut them into shapes like birds or flowers and decoupage them onto anything... lamp shades and bases, vases, tops of stools. Maybe decoupage strips onto a frame. All the pinks would look cute together. A patchwork bulletin board. Over cork for a coaster (if you seal the fabric). How about a doll pillow? You just have to stitch around and add some filling. Have fun!

Gather the middle of each square and tie thread around the gathered area to make angel wings. Use another piece or two and cut a "body" for the angel. Best description is to cut one piece in half. On long sides of each half, cut from corner of base to about 2" from top corners on each side. Almost like a triangle with the top point cut off flat. Glue top s and sides together. Fill inside with scraps or polyfill, then glue bottom shut. Add wings to back. Use 1" bead or ball as head. Add string loop on back to hang.

Hi there Jan Iwould go too any local Charity shop or even your own Garden too see if you can find any Beautiful Herbs Sage, Rosamary etc then. make little sent pouches. By putting a little bit of your chosen Herb in the center and then you can either use any thing too tie it with around its gathering use any old String Wool or just use a needle and thread and hand sew round the gathering. Hope this helps. From One Jan 2 Another Jan
