Can you paint a fiberglass tub and shower?

Can I paint an UGLY fiberglass tub & shower with an exterior paint? Or do you have another cheap fix? Thanks!

What about an enamel "old" metal tub?
Hi, I painted a tub and tub enclosure with "marine paint" which is meant for boats. I figured if it will stand up to being in the water constantly on a boat it could bear up to showering and bathing and then being wiped down. Been on for 5 years and still great. Bear in mind you do have to baby it a little and wipe it down each time it is used. Hope this helps.
