How can I make my mini blinds into open top?

Remaking regular mini blind to other style of blind
I saw a post about taking out slats to shorten blinds to fit the window frame. I really like the top down bottom up blinds. Can I make a difference with regular mini blinds???

No! Regular mini blinds are made to go up and down from the bottom only. No way to reconfigure them to work any other way.

I don't know if it will work, but why not remove the top slats - leaving the bottom ones alone? Just reverse the instructions for removing them from the bottom? You'd have to leave the 2 longer outside threads alone and they'd be visible, but curtains would cover that? Just a thought.
Wow! Thanks, I hate to throw away perfectly good blinds and don't want to pay to replace them. I do want the top part of the window open to let the sunshine in. Thank you for thoughts on this idea. Sandy
