Can you help with basement LED Lighting?

We are updating an 800 sq ft basement. I am trying to decide on LED lighting. Not sure how many to use. It also involves taking out drop ceiling tiles and just painting the rafters. Any suggestions or experiences?

How high are the ceilings? Do you have the height to do recessed lighting? LED bulbs come in all shapes and sizes now, so unless you're looking at specific fixtures that have integrated bulbs, you can do whatever you want and just buy the bulbs that work for it.

You can also do track lighting and use led bulbs. That is what I did. We had 75 watt floods and spots in 8 fixtures and I wanted to reduce the amount of electric I was using. Also, they are mounted on a cathedral ceiling 14 feet up and I am 76, don't do ladders to well. The led's last longer and use so little electricity compared to regular bulbs.
