DIY Valentine's Day Chalkboard

Did you know that you can turn just about anything into a chalkboard? It's true! Wait until you see how I turned a plain wood craft cutout heart into an adorable Valentine's Day chalkboard!
I started by painting a wooden heart with red acrylic paint. Once it dried, I used a white paint pen to draw little dashes around the edge of the heart.
I let the paint dry thoroughly. Next, I used a clear chalkboard coating to cover the entire heart. This coating works to make just about any surface a chalkboard!
After that, I seasoned the chalkboard to get it ready for writing on! Once that was done, I attached a scrapbook paper "X" and "O" to the top of the chalkboard with twine. This was just decorative; you certainly don't have to do this part!
Finally, I wrote my message and displayed my chalkboard in my home! Well . . . actually, I displayed it for photos. I won't put it out for actual decor until closer to Valentine's Day!
And that is ALL I had to do to transform a plain wood craft shape into a cute chalkboard! Can you believe how easy that was?
