Hearing tv with the media box or headphones?Have you used them?

We are wondering how satisfied folks are with the audio boxes one buys to add to the tv. If you are hard of hearing especially. I am not crazy about using headphones if I can hear better with the box. I cant hear out of one ear, and the audio choices on the tv flat screen don't help much. Background noise on tv is usually too loud to hear dialogue no matter what setting we have it on. Amplify, movie, standard etc. Any suggestions would be appreciated. We really need to solve this dilemma. Thanks in advance!

  • Well my dad uses the TV Ears (kinda like a headset/headphones). They work great for him. He is sometimes very hard of hearing…he is a Vietnam vet, so much of his hearing was lost at that point. Good Luck and I hope you find something that works for you!
  • We have had good luck with a few of our, how do we say it, advanced customers by installing sound bars for their TV's. The speakers in most modern TVs leave something to be desired, mostly because there is simply no real estate left inside them for big speakers anymore inside them. By adding a self amplified sound bar under the TV we can give good sound and most of them have surround processors in them that will take the voice track and put it to the front making it easier to hear. -Good luck and happy holidays to you and yours.
