Bathroom floor

I have an early 60's ceramic tile bathroom, floor, half way up the walls, counter. I have a couple of extra boxes of my wood laminate that I had put down throughout the rest of the house. Do you see a problem of installing it OVER the ceramic tile or does it need to come up? I know this will make a small step up into the bathroom but that's ok. I might add, this bathroom is never used, so there won't be a problem of constant bathing..thanks.

No problem, but remember that Laminate Flooring and water do not mix......not even for 15 minuets

Even if your bathroom isn't ever used right now... Laminate wood flooring isn't a good idea. Whether this Is this your "forever" house or someday you might sell it, it's best to do it right the first time and save money in the long run.

@Sherry R Have you seen the Allure Resilient Plank flooring? It's got the look of laminate, but is water-resistant. It's basically rubber layers, so can be used in basements that frequently get wet, or damp areas. If it ever got put under water, all you do is remove the water, dry it out and it's fine. Check it out in Home Depot. Great product, I've used it in kitchens, baths, basements and garages. Good Luck!

Sherry use the laminate in a place that doesn't have access to water. While I love the look of wood flooring... water and wood flooring do not mix. I was dating a guy who had just built this gorgeous home on 3 aces on the golf course. Well he forgot he was filling the hot tub (yes hot tub in master bathroom) and it overflowed ruining the hardwood flooring. He had just moved in too.
