How can I repurpose broken bamboo window shades?

I have four window shades with broken strings. Any ideas as to what other uses these shades can be used to create? Thank you!

Cut off top and use nailed to fence for climbing plants.
Cut up for mats. , Trivits, table runners.
Shelf liners. Dishes slide in and out easy.
Glue them around plastic planters to pretty them up!
