Turn some old boards into this amazing clock!
First, gather some boards that are at least as long as the desired diameter of your clock. More details on my site!
Next, lay out the pattern that you want. I played with the boards a bit to decide. More details on my site!
I measured to find the center and inserted a screw at the exact center. I then took some twine and tied it around the screw (you can see that in the next pic). This is a really amateur way of marking the circle. I just worked with what I had! I marked the circle. I then took out my jigsaw and cut along all of the lines. More details on my site!
Next, I flipped all the boards over and carefully lined them up where I wanted them. Once you get them where you want them, grab two support boards. Lay them on the back. Predrill the holes. NOW screw those babies down. 😉 More details on my site!
Buy a clock mechanism that will fit your clock. Mine was 34" in diameter, so I bought 17" clock hands and a mechanism that had a long 1" shaft so it would fit through the center of my boards. Hope you like the finished product! We just love having it on our mantle. More details on my site!
