DIY Colored Mercury Glass with Krylon Looking Glass Paint

If you want mercury glass that's a color other than silver, here's how I did it! I made red votive holders, but you can make glass in any color that's available in "glass paint." All the "how to" details and some tips from my learning experience are on my blog.

This was my inspiration photo. These are votives at the Loretto Chapel in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

I got nervous at some points. This looks more like a Halloween Vampire DIY than a Christmas candleholder DIY!
Thankfully everything worked out okay and this is the final result.
I also added decorations from the jewelry aisle at the craft store.

Could this work for painting glass panels in an old window, sort of a stained glass-effect?

I have bought jewelry at the dollar store to use the beads for craft projects also! I love the way you used the brooch on the candle!
