Digging out wire from an art piece that has been epoxied?

So I made a neon sign as a gift for someone with plywood, wire, electroluminescent "glow" wire (battery powered unit), and some U-shaped nails. Then I glazed the whole thing with "Parks" Super Glaze Ultra Gloss Epoxy which I bought at Home Depot. The whole thing worked great and looked great, until there was an electrical problem with the glow wire and now I need to get it re-soldered. In order to have that done, I was told to uncover 1-2" of glow wire from underneath the glaze at either the top or the bottom of the sign. How can I do that without ruining the entire thing? Please see photo below. And thanks in advance!

i would try using a utility knife, with a new blade in it. Change the blade several times if you need to. Try cutting through th epoxy surface close to and almost under where the light strand is attached to the board. You might consider contacting the manufacturer...they might have a solvent that would work.
