How do you clean burned food traces off a ceramic (glass-like) stove? I've tried the recommended cleaner, bar friend, baking soda. Thanks.

i used Ceramabrite on my smooth top and it worked great. It usually comes with a razor wrapped in a plastic encasement that you can use to scrape off burned on food. Follow the directions and your smooth top will look great. Ceramabrite can be purchased at Lowe's.

Ok now my problem is way past the burnt on food on the top the stove. My kids have used my stove for cooking with the fire always to high & have burnt food on the stove & more but so much that it has basicly burnt the paint off the enamel & burnt food into that & nothing makes this mess come clean. So how do I get this mess cleaned up? I have used baking soda, oven cleaner, coke, & I have even tried scrapping it off with butter knife. Nothing. So how can I get this gas stove cover off the stove & bring it where to make it look like it should?

I wet a washcloth and put a few drops of dish soap on it. Then I squeeze over the burned area and let it sit while I finish the rest of the kitchen cleanup. Then I use scraper that has a razor blade in it. Cleans up beautifully.

I use Cook Top Cleaning Creme and it has kept my 16 year old stove looking like new. I bought it at Amazon. I've also used it on Formica when I couldn't remove a stain from rust. If there is a lot of build up I first use the razor to remove it.

I use baking soda made into a paste after as Sherrie said scraped with a SHARP razor blade. I usually use a windex product with the baking soda and rub it around with my fingers to cover the area, Let it sit a bit then wipe off and then finish off with the all surface windex and buff with micro cloth. I have a relatively new stove and I am very particular with it,
