How could I put shelves up in this room?

I need some ideas for my laundry room...I want to put some storage on the walls but those pipes.. help!
You could hang cupboards above the washer and dryer, but they would be installed out, or in front of the pipes. A friend of mine had this problem and she had a carpenter put up wood strips and then somehow attach the cupboards to them and built them out from the wall, hiding the pipes.
For shelves, I would paint the pipes the color of the walls to "hide them". Then I would screw 2X4's vertically on the wall for shelf supports. May need double thickness due to the dryer vent pipe. Paint them to match the wall to "hide" them. Mount shelf brackets (any kind you want to use) on the 2X4's. Screw a small board on the back of each shelf to act as a lip to prevent anything to fall behind the shelves.
How about shelves of different sizes, kind of like this?
I like the combination of existing comments. Paint the pipes the color of the walls and use the angles in room now to your style. On the right side of the vent, add larger to smaller shelves. Maybe add one in the middle below the window. For the window, I made a little curtain with embellishments on it and used a tension rod to hang them.
Install cabinets, cutting a notch out in the back to accommodate the pipes. The dryer vent pipe should probably be insulated so it does not catch anything on fire.`
I know your questions is for storage, but ask yourself does this layout work for you. I prefer my tub to left of washer and washer next to my dryer easier for transfer of stuff from the tub to washer and clean laundry to dryer. I would look at moving the tub to the left of the washer, the pipes going to tub can then be taken back toward left wall. How is the tub connected to water supply, is it in the same lines as tub? Mine is and it eliminated a second set of water lines. Washers have long enough hoses for connections. I would straighten the dryer vent using an angle dryer piece or the flexible dryer hose at the bottom to connect, this would then give you a nice area above the dryer to put in either cupboards or shelves. I would put in shelves either between the pipes or right to the wall notching out for the pipes and to the dryer vent, put some trim around the window to finish it. Paint the pipes same color as wall as others have suggested. Good luck let us see what you do.
The dryer vent confuses me. Why is it running to the ceiling when there is a hole already cut for it? Not sure what all the pipes are for. I don't see the usual waste water pipe, unless it's connected some way to the sink pipes. Any other pics available?
It's a basement so it's running into the ceiling the vents outside the house...as for the other pipes those are all pipes that are usually behind the wall but I live in a place where it can get to-40 in the winters and didn't want to risk them freezing...we actually have a few thinner ones behind the walls on the other side that we had to cut an opening in the wall as they did freeze. The house is about 40 years old and I'm sure there are better ways to do it but we are just trying to make what is in place look a bit bettrr

I would put stripe of wood on the walls and go to homedepot or lowes and get the wire shelf system. the shelves can be adjusted around the piping which would loo better painted. Some of the shelves are almost 20 wide and these are very strong systems. Check them out easy to install. Do need a level to make sure the support brackets line up
I like all of the suggestions but here is one more. In front ot the cabinets hang a heavy curtain rod to hang your clothes as you take them out of the dryer. They will be wrinkle free and need very little ironing. I take mine out about 5 minutes early and let them air dry the rest of the way on the hanger. Also make sure that the rod is higher than the cabinet doors so that the doors can open freely.
