Be careful if the mirror has trim. The ammonia could be harmful.

When you say bucket I think 5 gallon bucket. I see that you have a large container instead of a "bucket." Could you tell me the amount or water your container holds? For instance 1 gallon, 2 gallons, etc. It will make a difference in the amount of ammonia used. Thanks. I look forward to it working as I am unable to get the streaks off my windows no matter what I use.

Vinegar works well, too and is non-toxic. As an old pro window washer, vinegar and cheap paper towels or newspapers work well. No streaks. Using the washer cleaner that often is used in car washer reservior works well. Ammonia can be toxic and not safe around young children and pets. Also have heard using shaving cream even though messy on bathroom mirrors keeps fog from steam forming on the mirrors. Wondering if that would work on shower doors.

I add a touch of dish detergent to the water and ammonia as recommended by my professional window washer. He said to use ammonia inside and vinegar for outside windows. Mirrors and windows come out streak free.

I made a concoction of Alcohol, water and vinegar and put it in a spray bottle and it leaves everything very streaky. I have to keep going over it a number of times to get the streaks out. Do you suppose it's the concoction or is the squeegee an important piece? I may have to pick one up and see if it makes a difference. Also, I was going to ask, can you make this ahead and keep in a spray bottle, or does it have to be warm to work well? Great tip, thanks for sharing

I have the same trouble and now I just clean the window first and then use a micro fiber cloth this removes all streaks even on my mirrors and stove. I just clean things then buff with the rag. Bunches are sold at the big box stores. They wash great and don't stain as much as regular terry.

good idea. all I use is equal parts vinegar (white) and peroxide in a small spray bottle. Fill rest with water and 2 drops of Dawn dish soap. This is what I finally found works great on my black stove too.

I also use 1/2 rubbing alcohol and 1/2 water on eye glasses and windows. I asked my eye dr what they used to clean glasses and the is what she told me. As well as cotton to wipe with not papertowel. Works wonders!
