Can you dye polyester fabric?

Is there any way to dye a polyester fabric? The items are curtains. The fabric is slubbed horizontally and opaque. It is a very pale yellow and I would go to a darker color. The fabric is not shiny but the tag says it is 100% polyester. I would love to know if it is possible. This type of fabric does not dye with Rit dye but maybe someone knows an alternative method. Thanks!

You can use Rit Dye :)
For all practical purposes only natural fibers will take a dye. Acrylic and poly fabrics are made with the color in the fibers before the fabric is woven. The color is part of the structure. Rit Dye does have a DyeMore product that will dye some synthetics but you have to maintain a very high temp for 30 minutes or more and some fiber will not withstand that heat. good luck
Two words - fabric paint! There is a substance you can buy at J Micheals that will turn any acrylic paint into fabric paint. Generally you are thinning acrylic paint down with an acrylic medium. The curtains will not be as soft but how often do we wrap ourselves in our curtains anyhow?
