Personalize Your Christmas Stockings & Gifts

Remember when you were a kid and you believed in Santa and you wondered how he knew which stocking was yours? We didn’t have monograms and embroidery when we were kids…..or at least at my house. Nowadays everything is labeled or monogrammed so Santa can find things easily. There are so many ways to personalize and here’s how we did ours. I love Scrabble Tiles and find them in Thrift Stores for a few bucks (that’s for the whole game and tiles $3.95). I like to glue them onto a red ribbon with the hot glue gun. It makes easy to change too when you change the next year, or there is a new family member, boyfriend, girlfriend, puppy, baby etc. When I’m picking out tiles I after I get the names for the stockings or what I’m personalizing, I like to see how many other words I can make on the tile holders, like “Reindeer” shown below. Now we have some mischievous kitties at our house and they like to grab the tiles and run and hide or chew on them, so I use the glue gun to tack the tiles down a little and I can still pop them off easily. Once I’ve glued them on to the ribbon I just glued or tacked the corners of the ribbon so if I want to change stockings in a year or so I can easily. Another easy way is with chalk board cards. I bought these back when I was re-doing our laundry room. Remember that? So I cut the cards in half and then wrote names with chalk. Super easy and very current too. I bought these in the bridal section and used a 40% off coupon. It’s just a matter of using your chalk and writing your names on them. If you want to change just erase and write again. Just a few more ideas for you to personalize your stockings and add a little charm in your home. Have you started shopping yet?? I still need to get going on that too.
