Glitter Ornaments

This is by far, one of the most addictive crafts that I've done in a long time! I'm sure the glitter has a lot to do with it. (can anyone ever have enough glitter?) You can customize these Christmas ornaments to fit any decor! Whether they hang on a tree or fill a bowl, they sparkle like glitter with out the mess.
Happy Creating everyone!
Glitter Christmas Ornaments done with jewel tones & neon
Supplies needed: Clear glass ornaments, Glitter-It, glitter funnels & glitter... lots & lots of glitter!
The instructions on the Glitter-It package say to wash the ornaments with vinegar & water. I did, but I'm really not sure that you need to.
Remove the caps & gently spread apart. It makes putting the caps back on easier. (ask me how I know this, ahem)
Washed clear glass ornaments, drying. Egg cartons worked very well for this.
I found that glitter funnels work wonders with this project to help keep the mess down.
Glitters! I'd found the neon glitter at Walmart a while back, & I've been wanting to use them. This was the perfect time!
Pour some Glitter-It into the glass balls.
Coat the inside of the balls, but don't shake it. You don't want bubbles.
Once the inside of the balls are coated, pour the excess Glitter-It back into the bottle.
Let it drain for 10 to 20 seconds.
Pour in your glitter.
Coat the inside of the ball with the glitter. Pour out the excess glitter back into the glitter container.
Set them aside to dry. I let them sit for about an hour.
Replace the caps & gently close the caps back into shape around the opening.
The jewel toned Christmas Glitter Ornaments.
The neon Christmas Glitter Ornaments. I love the way these turned out! I'm thinking how cute the orange ones would look with a face painted on them for Halloween!

Sam, can you mix colors? I'm gonna try this. I did a search on HomeTalk for glitter ideas and found this.

I love glitter, but my poor husband hates it. There has been more than one time that he's gotten glitter on him after a kiss. :-)

I love all things glitter, but what a mess it is. This looks like fun and a more controlled way to create sparkle. Thank you I love Hometalk.
