Mix a solution of 10% bleach to water, dab the stain lightly with a rag or brush, and watch it disappear before your eyes! So handy, simple, and inexpensive! Other option would be to paint the stain with a stain blocking primer. Make sure you solved what caused the stain also.

We are preparing our house for sale this spring, and although we knew the back porch roof no longer leaked the water stains looked suspect. I tried Kilz pro-x, three coats, and it did not cover the stains running down the wall. I've never had much luck with Kilz. Yesterday I tried a product new to me called Zinsser Covers Up ($4.98) spray can. It dries flat, quick and did the job. Rechecked again today . . . all is good. Best of luck with whatever works for you.

When I had a blemish or scar of any kind on my popcorn ceiling I used the spray snow I had for Christmas trees because of the texture.
