Gardening Tip - Use that old oil. When it’s time to clean up the mower and other power-operated yard equipment, it’s hard to find a use for the leftover oil. Use the oil for cleaning your garden tools. You can also pour it over a bucket of sand and store your tools in the oily sand. This idea keeps the rust off your tools. To make oiled sand, pour 3/4 quart motor oil or mineral oil into a 5-gallon bucket of sand (the sand should be damp but not moist). Push blades of tools into sand. This helps clean and condition the metal.

Love this idea! We try to recycle as much as we can but reusing is even better. Now I need to find a nice organized way to arrange buckets of various sizes to hold larger shovels as well as the smaller items.
