Updating & Decorating a Midcentury Living Room On a Budget!

Giving new life to a tired, worn midcentury living room while preserving the vintage integrity of the space!

I'm currently flipping my grandparents retro ranch. The living room was worn, tired, and desperately begging for a new life.
The space was worn & dirty. But with a little TLC, the space has transformed into a budget-friendly midcentury living room space!
By restoring the 50+ year old hardwoods, the charm and character of the space came alive again! By stripping the years of damage and wear, the wood floors look new again!
Once the floors were restored to a beautiful dark stain, a fresh coat of gray paint was added to the walls. Add some updated fixtures and this space was ready to stage!
Using thrifted, restored, inherited, and vintage pieces, the midcentury integrity of the space was preserved. To see how I saved money on many of the decor pieces, check out my blog: The Bachelorette Pad Flip!
With a few DIY projects- like $2 pillows and $1 cabinet trays- I was able to accent the space on a budget.
Giving the front door a cheery new coat of paint, salvaging some thrifted lattice panels, and freshening up a Craig's List dresser, the space is welcoming and stylish.
