Any ideas how to fill in gaps between wood slats?

Question

I applied reclaimed painted wood slats in two different colors to the back of my bathroom sink.  I should have painted them prior to installing them.  Any ideas how to make small gaps between the slats look more cohesive?  I have alternated dark then light colors then repeated the pattern.

How about using grout in a color that matches the wood? It will seal the holes and give a unified look!

Generally you first paint the wall behind or your project a color darker than the color of the slats you're using - black, brown, dark red, etc. Now, you could use a permanent marker to run between the slats if you really wanted to. I think I would leave it to add to the rustic look.

Get wood filler. When I had my hardwood floors refinished (few boards to replace) wood filler was used to fill in the tiny seams in between the boards. This stuff is versatile. I used it to fill in holes in the wood made from old hardware, and fill in scratches on the bottom of my door made from dogs. Great stuff, you can sand it, paint it, it's great!

You can use baby powder. It will temporarily fill in the cracks and make it smell good

Thanks for the hints, I have decided to leave it the way it is. I think it looks like ship lap and I like it.
