Abaca Angel Ornament DIY

Finding a roll of abaca fiber mat at a thrift store, I was inspired to make an angel ornament similar to one I saw at Pier1.
This is a hand crafted angel ornament made of natural fibers called abaca from the banana plant family. She's a glittering beauty but just doesn't photograph that well.
Using cut out petals, a piece of cardboard roll, a small ornament and a few other items the angel was easy to put together.
To keep the abaca from fraying, puffy glitter paint outlined the edges.
A total of 11 petals were glued to the tube to form the dress. Two petals were crisscrossed in the back to form the wings.
The ball was glued to the tip of dress form and tube for the head.
"Hair" made out of embroidery thread and mod podge was attached to head. Stiff silver rope was shaped to form arms and a halo. A tiny bow was attached to the neck front and a loop was made to hang the angel ornament.
