I used my "left over" contact paper to cover different shapes....oatmeal containers, cracker boxes kleenex boxes, etc. Every year when my grandkids would come over around St. Patrick's Day, we would make a "Castle and houses"

to try to catch a leprechaun and get his pot of gold! I even bought some furniture that went with a doll house to make it seem "real!" We had so much fun doing this every year...lol...When they were outgrowing the fun, I had an old treasure chest full of gold and diamonds from one of my fish tanks, and that's what the kids found on the last year of Leprechaun hunting.....such fun!!

Can you use them on carton boxes to put on shelfs? Stick them on an ugly door?

Cut them up in strips or triangles and put them on a wall? On the vertical parts of your stairs?

  • I use them to cover xerox paper boxes (from work for free), and store craft supplies in them.

If you get your printer paper in 6 or 12 ream boxes, you can cover the lids and boxes with contact paper...contrasting lid if you have various colors...and keep things in your closets in them. Contact paper makes the boxes pretty much moisture proof, so be sure everything is very dry before storing it. I cover just the box bottoms, inside and out, put them on end on the shelves and stack shirts sweaters, sheets, etc in them several side by side really organize the closet.

I have covered a table and a night stand in contact paper in the past. I covered a small shoe box to store toilet paper in the bathroom and marked it 'Toilet Paper' so that guests don't have to go searching for paper if the roll should be empty. Cereal boxes become pretty magazine holders. I use contact paper to line shelves and drawers so that clothes and linens don't catch on wooden bottoms. (I also hate scratching the bottom of the drawers with my nails.) Deck of cards worn out? Put a new surface on the back and clear contact paper on the front. (More for kids use than adult.) Cover up old CD's and DVD's for use as coasters. ... Plenty of uses. :-)

hem for storaged use t anBig Box stores always have a variety of cardboard boxes that are meant to be "display" boxes; that is, they cut the packing carton along certain lines and the product can stay in the box as a display; this gives many of them three full sides and a lip or short wall in the front. I've covered some of these with contact paper, inside and out, and use them for storage on the floor of my closet for shoes; I've used smaller ones to stand my Simplicity and other sewing patterns up in
