DIY Farmhouse Style Shaggy Rag Wreath

I love wreaths. I have wreaths in nearly every room of my house. When Christmas comes around...you don't have to get a new one...but if you do, you can make it a wreath that works any time...and can do a small change up to make it work beyond the holidays. By using, not just the ticking...but the salvage edges too...this turned out perfect for my red farmhouse style. I attached these sleigh bells for Christmas...but I made them so that they could come off easily...and she could go back to a year round wreath.
I love my farmhouse style shaggy wreath
I got some sleigh bells at Wal-mart and attached them where they came come off easily after the holidays.
Once the holidays are over...the sleigh bells will come off...and she'll stay around for the rest of the year.
She looks wonderful with my red farmhouse style home.
The wreath form didn't cost me a dime...it's just a wired hanger shaped into a circle...and the hook bent to make a hanger.
I used the salvage edges, because I wanted some of my strips to be a different color...but still blend. I didn't even worry about the color dots and labels....they don't even show.

One of the first wreaths I made as a young girl was made with this same principal, but I tied on cut pieces of green trash bags, & trimmed with a red bow. The trash bags made it suitable for hanging outdoors. My mom still has it after all these years.. Yours is much prettier. :)
