Try polishing with Pledge - it keeps the fingerprints at bay, and will probably help conceal the tiny scratches as well.

Try polishing with a white toothpaste (not gel). Good luck!

Try the fine abrasives used on car detailers. It was the untold secret about ss appliances--they ARE scratchy, and they DO catch dirt and grime more than enamel paints.

Learned this from a metallurgist. When you polish stainless steel, go horizontally instead of vertically (I know, the "grain" looks vertical on most appliances.) It's true. You can clean them much easier and better by going back and forth (left to right and vice versa) than up and down. I would try jeweler's rouge -- AKA Flitz or Wenol -- in an inconspicuous place to see if it works without over polishing. These products are very fine abrasives, so use with a light hand. Also might try Mr. Clean Erasers -- again, be gentle!)

You can buy repair kits. I think I got mine at Home Depot. I used it on a fridge that had a lot of fine scratches. As long as you follow the directions (and go with the grain), you should have success. It worked great for me. This was for a house we were selling so I needed it to look "new" again.

Can also use a very fine steel wool soap pad 000, this will remove the scratches, if it dulls polish up with car polish or just use an electric car polisher. Like another hometalker suggested work horizontal. Good luck
