How long do you boil corks when repurposing them?

Your ideas on re-purposing wine corks are wonderful! Unfortunately, you didn't express how long the corks need to boil.

Would you please update your post with the answer? There are many who are waiting anxiously for your answer!

    I have checked every possible site and only found one answer. It stated put in very hot water for ten minutes. I have never done this so I am not positive.

    Yup Janet is right!! Boil them for 10 minutes before using them or cutting them. Have fun!!!

    the purpose of boiling is to kill bacteria, germs, mold spores.....three minutes of hard boil should do the job
