I would use the seasoned gray barn wood. As I remember that's what they looked like inside. And the wood should look imperfect with pine knots and unfinished. Just using my memory here. What an original idea. Makes me smile. Good luck! GayL

Spiders. Lots and lots of spiders. And, of course, no lights...or, air fresheners, NONE! Have your One-n-Forever carve a half-moon about eye-high into the bathroom door. Ok, let's see, what else....um....find an old Sears catalog, tear out about 20 pages, random is fine, cut them in half, poke them in a corner with a nail, send a piece of twine thru the holes, tie the two ends of the twine together in a sturdy knot, and suspend this 'convenience' from another nail fashioned in the wall handy to the toilet. And finally, choose a very dark brown color to paint all walls, floor and ceiling. THERE YA GO! 'Outhouse!' : )

Hey, Jane! I was born past the need for home outhouses, Praise God!, but I was in Scouting for 15 yrs., from Brownie to Leader, and camping included ye ole outhouse.....if you were lucky! Earlier camping experiences were trench affairs....ugh!
