I save them. Almost every room in my house has a small garbage can. I pluck out the full bag and (what do you know!!) there's one or two more scrunched in the bottom of the can waiting to be stretched across the top of the can! Please feel free to put your chewed gum in my garbage can! :) How else do you use plastic bags?

If they are the thicker kind I have heard of people fusing them between parchment paper and then cutting them out in pattern for totes sewn in between cloth.......http://www.relevedesign.com/how-to-fuse-plastic-bags/

I make sure they are clean and have no left over receipts in them, then I save and use as extra packing material (for packages I mail).
Cut into strips and croquet them into a door mat.
Use as stuffing in a pillow.
We have a local charity shop who will every bag I can give them. They reuse them for when people buy stuff. Saves them from having to buy them and that leaves more money to help stock their food bank.
I mostly recycle mine but also take them to the public library for use on rainy days and also use them in my smaller trash containers.
