The very first thing I will tell you is... it is vital to know if there is sealer on the grout. If there is sealer you need to scrape it or lance it something. YOU WILL NOT REMOVE MOLD FROM GROUT IF IT HAS SEALER... do not re-seal!!! Next get a fan blow it in... get a hard scrub brush, and lime away scrub the crap out of it............. NEXT...... rinse make sure you rinse the entire area so well that you would feel comfortable there is NO limeaway left... because Bleach and Limeaway is toxic and you will DIE!!!!!!!! spray bleach ( do all of this with the fan on.) use your rinsed off brush and scrub the heck out of it... let it set,,,,, squeegee the walls and floor..... with an old rag, wipe the floor down... NOTE I did not say rinse... do not rinse... just wipe the damp off..... keep the fan on... let it dry ... You will have instant gratification with that fan blowing on the floor...

YOU WILL NEED Rubber gloves, glasses, and a fan to blow the smell away from you, a towel next to the shower on the floor and ware shoes.....and a squeegee,

Products Bleach and Lime Away (Not to be mixed or used together rinse throughly.

    1) If your not used to doing this you want to ware safety glasses and you MUST and I mean MUST have a fan blowing. Keep the kids out of the area.

    2) Limeaway is acid, if you get this on chrome you will turn it black. YOU may do any glass area with it... using a green scrubbie at the store,

I had a customer who had sealer on their grout and I could not remove the black mold... finally I thought remove the sealer and it came right off the first time. Good Luck

Easy Off No Fume Oven Cleaner in the BLUE can! Spray it on, it will foam, let it set for a while, then rinse. Works on fiberglass and porcelain also.

Once you take off sealers you will need to reseal maybe even grout again. After all of this then relax . This shower will be out of use for a few days, beaware of that because if you use it to soon this may seem OK by touch but remember grout is has pores and every time you use it dry it well and exhaust fan should run at least 30 minutes after you shower. If you don't have one then place a fan to blow once you have dried and open door to help with humidity.

Fill a spray bottle half way with vinegar then fill to top with blue Dawn dishwashing liquid. Spray entire tub and shower area heavily and let it sit for an hour or more. Then use a scrubber sponge to loosen whatever crud is left. Rinse well. You will be very pleasantly surprised with how well this works! For regular cleanings I use a dish wand filled with the same mixture that has a scrubber sponge on the end of it. I keep it hung in the shower and just give it a quick going over once a week or so. If your caulking is still discolored after the deep clean, visit a beauty supply store and ask for the cotton rolling beautician use to prevent hair coloring from dripping down their clients for heads. Wet the cotton batting with bleach and place firmly against the chalk line between the tub and shower wall. BE SURE the room in VERY well ventilated with the exhaust fan on and a window open. Leave the room, close the door and again, leave in place for an hour or so then rinse very well. Throw cotton batting in outside trash.

I second the vinegar and dawn. Also, I cleaned my shower with lemon--a real lemon cut in half--and it has not developed mold in a long time compared to other cleaners, even the vinegar and dawn. Look up you tube for lemon for shower cleaner.

Forget the toxic chemicals like bleach, EasyOff, etc. Buy and wear a surgical or dust mask from the drug store or hardware store. Wet a long miracle sponge, not dripping wet, and remove all of the mold. Just use top of wall to bottom motions, not scrubbing or back and forth motions. Wash the sponge as needed. Do the same with the ceiling, using one side to the other motions. Dilute 10 drops of grapefruit seed extract in a qt of water and spray all over the walls and ceilings. Grapefruit seed extract kills all kinds of mold. Regularly cleaning showers with lemon sounds like a good idea. I don't remember that I've never tried vinegar for cleaning mold.

I use Lysol Mold and Mildew Spray, works great, wear a mask for the fumes and have your fan on.

I just had a flood in my basement and there was black mould. I researched this extensively-how to remove mould. On non porous surfaces, tile, etc you simply wash it way with dish soap and even vinegar if you like. That removes the mould from shower floors etc. If you are removing mould from porous surfaces, wood and any surface where it can sink in, you use baking soda to clean it off. Even JAVEX does not work on porous surfaces - most people don't know this - the mould grows 'legs' into the wood. Then the easiest thing to use is Mold Control by Concrobium link:

Unfortunately it wouldn't stay on in a shower. On the caulking along my bathtub, I used Javex on long cotton ball type strips (hairdresser or beauty supply store), left it on overnight and next day all mould was gone.

    Hope this helps!

I purchased ZEP they have a number of products in Home Depot as well as Job Lot Stores (see internet) that will address your needs. I sprayed it on the black mold/mildew on the bottom of my walk-in shower, waited a few minutes used a long handled scrub brush, and wow, without a lot of scrubbing, it disappeared. I rinsed and it was sparkling clean!

Apply H2O2 throughout the entire surface. It is one of the most powerful chemicals, penetrating deep into the floor and walls to eliminate stains, mold and mildew at the root. If it’s natural stone or ceramic tile, we will clean it with Imperia and then will seal the tile and grout with high quality sealers from pFOkUS. For more information, visit : https://goo.gl/8WTU8b .
