How do you recover an old vinyl clair?

    depends on the chair style- kitchen chair back and seat? recliner? carefully deconstruct the covering that is on the piece. that's your pattern for the new fabric. take photos if you need to. when you go to cut out the new fabric leave yourself a margin of error of about 2 inches. you can trim it later, but it's not fun having to sew in a piece of fabric. yup I've done that.

    reupholster, new fabric or even new vinyl leaving 2 inches for clipping and stretching the fabric on every end, very easy to do, need patience though
