I use baskets as planters, as organizers, as toy chests and any and everything else. One favorite thing is to store the lap blankets and coverlets used during winter in a large basket next to the couch. I roll the blankets up and put them in for easy access.

I also had quite the collection of baskets even a large amount of Longaberger ones. If you want to use them as part of decor I have hung them on walls in a nice arrangement.I use some for storing cloth napkins or wash cloth /towels in powder room Of course large ones hold magazines, etc If you have small inexpensive ones you can spray paint them and then paint or stencil a design on them. I use sturdy baskets in my garden gate to hold small annuals (I use aplastic bag with small holes poked in it and I place the soil in with some ivy and an annual or two) I get a lot of compliments on that..I have a peg rack where my smaller baskets with handles get hung I put pens in one small note paper in another one ,and keys in another.... If you have an area near the entrance to your house, place amedium basket there for keys or mail to put into mailbox....A really large basket there would be nice to throw gloves and hats. I hope you got some ideas from my rambling on....

I have one in my bathroom holding toiletries an rolled washclothes. In the kitchen with fruits and veggies and by the fireplace with wood. I also used to have a trashcan one. If you have one of the Easter ones with bright colors if you paint it white the colors bleed through and look really nice. I found that out accidentally but will do it again on purpose. All of the ideas everyone else had are good too.

Not sure if you're up for this, but when I use baskets--in order for them to all look like they are "upscale" or from a "decorator" I paint them the color that goes in the room I am working on. If I have 4 that are unique but have their own color etc, I will paint them all black, or white or whatever fits in that decor to give it an extra decorator touch. But some like them plain so when you get them set up, would love to see pictures

There are hundreds of uses for baskets. You might try using google for an image search "decorative baskets" to get some ideas. Or go to http://www.drivenbydecor.com/2012/02/decorative-baskets-inspiration-for.html.

i would refill the ones that can be used for house plants with bulbs or seeds for this spring then get in contact with a nursing home or vet hospital and donate the plants once the blooms are showing.

I use my baskets for similar uses mentioned above. If you sew or crochet you can make liners so small things won't fall out. Bedroom, bath, living room, dining room, etc.
