Affordable Pendant Lights

I wanted an unique and affordable pendant light and this is what I came up with.

At our local Crazy Store, I bought a flour sieve. I also found a red cord with lamp fittings at the local hardware. The tools I used was pliers and a utility knife.

First I cut the handle off.

Then I determined the centre of the sieve and placed the lamp holder on it.

After marking where the lamp holder will fit, I cut the hole in the sieve with a utility knife. I think there are better ways to do this.

Next I fitted the lamp holder through the hole in the sieve.

And tightened the retaining nut to hold everything together.

This is what it looked like after attaching the lamp holder

And this is what it looked like once I hung it from the ceiling. The LED globe I used was not ideal and I will be purchasing a better suited one.

Did you hardwire the wiring into the ceiling? Was there an existing light fixture there? How was that done?

Was the cover at the ceiling included in the cord kit? If not, what did you use?
