Why not just buy shower caps and eliminate all that work?
By cutting and sewing your own, you can make covers any size to fit whatever container/bowl that you want. Whereas, the pre-purchased shower caps are generally only one size. Also, they are often made from plastic that is much flimsier than shower curtain plastic, and the elastic is also not as durable as sewing elastic that you would use if making your own.
