I have a Entertainment center that has to go in a wall corner. it must kattie corner the arnoir with book cases on both sides. There is sliding glass
patio doors on one side and a five foot wall between the book case on that long wall. The other book case has about a 3 foot wall, the front door and immediately starts the other long wall which is approximantly 10 feet of wall. Next is the opening into dinning room, about and across from the double glass sliding door. The other short wall is all the way across to the sliding door. My room is probably have to be separated the width of the sliding door. No I do have a screen.

You can give the room any shape you'd like by furniture placement strategy. I like placing the the couches in a way that shapes the room almost like a wall, determining the way people interact with the room layout.

My first home was a 1960s, with an annoyingly long and narrow living room. They are a challenge. Find ways to make it feel more square. If you have a TV in that room, put it on the wall. Make sure the furniture the right scale for the room. *In my case that was smaller furniture. Keep lines clean and the room uncluttered and go with colors that are neutral.

If your walk space allows, place your sofa more into the room instead of along a wall and use a library table or other table and reading lamp you love near or against that wall behind the sofa. That will help square the room giving it a cozy feel. Good luck.
