The taller the better. At least a 60 inch.

You should check the specifics for the plant you wish to trellis. The Passion flower variety I know of can get 8 to 12 feet tall.

the passionflower in our greenhouses grow 20' or more and sprawl across anything within reach. If yours is a tropical variety your zone is too cold, it won;t get that big in 1 season.

Depending on the variety, passion vines will cover any support they can reach. I have wire fencing hanging from hooks on my wooden privacy fence. The vines will cover it in one season. I live in West Texas. The vines usually freeze back so I like a support that makes it easy to remove the frozen vines. I just cut them back to above the ground and they come right back when the weather warms. So...to answer your question...the bigger the trellis the better. You can find heavy wire fencing panels at farm stores or Lowes.

My daughter made a passion vine support from a large tree limb with lots of branches. She put in a very large pot with the passion vine. The vine covered the branches to look like a passion tree! Absolutely beautiful...and covered with fruit.

Did you know you get a big bonus with growing passion vines...BUTTERFLIES! Here's a link about passion vine and it's butterflies.

Good luck with your passion vines.
