How can I turn this table into a coffee table?

You could top it with a piece of wood. Attach with small "L" brackets underneath. Maybe tile it or stain it or paint it.
You can upcycle a door or use a regular piece of wood to cover the pockets. But use a hinge mechanism so that you can store small items in the pockets.

Hi, If you are using the individual sections a hinged lid so you can get the them or change them to drawers instead or a strong safety glass and store all your favourite books or all your fragile favourite ornaments. It would save on dusting and safer for any children. Make sure you show what you do please. Thanks
Turn the bins on their sides, top with one of the above ideas, then fill with books, magazines,etc.
measure and get glass to cover but you can put fake flowers that show thru
