DIY Custom Wall Sconce

When my kids were small they loved to play with our lamp shades. They would spin them around until, eventually, the shade would brake and would sit -broken- on the lamp until I bought a new one. Turning the lamp on meant carefully sneaking my hand under the shade to keep it from wobbling off.

Too bad I didn't think of making these wall sconces back then. Although, as I look at them, if my kiddos were still small, they'd probably pull on the cord instead. Little stinkers :)

I had some scrap wood left from some of my other wood projects and decided to make a little mount for these light cages to hang from. This is the easiest project ever guys and gals! I love the industrial farmhouse look. And, did you notice the phone charging station on the wall? icon

Back to the light sconce :). I love reaching over and just flipping the switch on the cord for instant reading light. I like lamps, but I don't miss them. I'm still trying to decide what should go above the bed between the two sconces. I don't want to steal their stage presence, but I think something needs to go there. Any ideas? I hope you like them!
