How can I remove a decal from wood?

I bought a lovely old breakfront, but it has some ugly stick-on decal - how do I remove the ugly decals without harming the wood?

Use "GooGone" directly on the decals. Wait a few minutes for it to soak in then wipe it off with a soft cloth. If that doesn't work after 2 applications, use plain peanut butter on them ... rub it in ... wait a few minutes then rub it off. I hope either one of these works for you. I found it worked on my solid walnut cabinet without damaging any of the wood. I just cleaned the wood as per usual & everything was fine. Good luck!

Mayo will also work. Let it set for about an hour and use a plastic scrapper to take it off.

Goo Gone - is great! But if you don't have any use baby oil, olive oil or a cooking oil.

olive oil will do the trick and leave the surface soft!

Use any oily substance(peanut butter,coconut oil,veg.oil,mayo)

  Yes ,rub onto the surface with a soft cloth and leave on long enough for the oil to soak the label then you should be able to peal it off and rub the remaining stickness with a rag.

use a hair dryer to get it warm, then you can peel it off!
