Tip: Easy Homemade Chalk Paint

S
by S
My new favorite DIY project painting my tired laundry room cabinets with homemade chalk paint . I added a 1/4c baking soda to a sample sized jar of paint from a big box store and base coated the cabinets. Later I glazed them and worked in some other colors of green and raw umber to age the lovely fern-ish green. When dry, I used polycrylic to protect the finish as this area is a "wet" area and the cabinets take skme
abuse. the one and only photo I have on my phone and it isn't a good one😏

Me, too! It's a Valspar color from LOWES called Betsy Ross' house moss. I thought Betsy Ross' mildew sounded funnier!

Thanks everyone fornhe positive feedback! Too bad the photo loaded sideways and that it wasn't a very good angle to begin with.

As to the baking soda measurement, I said I used 1/4 c but I truly think you could use a little less. Just depends on how much texture you want in your paint.
