Teen Room Makeover

4 Materials
I'd finally had it with the puppy smell coming from my daughters room. The carpet was disgusting and the constant carpet scrubbing was a massive chore. So my 14 year old daughter and I decided on a diy makeover for her room and here is how it came out. She loves it.
Before
We removed the smelly carpet from the room. It was easier then we thought it would be
We decided to paint the room first. She decided on a Tiffanys inspired Blue
She did most of the painting herself
She and I were very pleased with the outcome!
Make sure and get rid of all carpet nails
We then swept, vacuumed and mopped the floor clean. We painted on a floor primer and let it dry.
I wanted to find the easiest floor to do!
We chose a peel and stick vinyl plank from Lowes
She was a great help!
We began and it went on really easy!
She loved the outcome!
I found an old brass headboard at a thrift store for $8 and spray painted it white
I bought a crisp white bedspread anew white lights for the headboard
The small room came out so so cute!
The floors look great and they are easy to clean!
We even made a kennel for the puppy to sleep in in the converted closet!

Do you cut it with a utility knife and was it easy to do. I would love to do this in my bathrooms.

I would like to do this in my daughters room. Just wondering if adding a sub floor is necessary before putting the vinyl down.
