Quick Squares Quilted Table Topper

2 Materials
Sewing strips makes for very fast piecing of this cute table topper which can be done in an afternoon. Just sew the strips, cross cut into units and reassemble into blocks. Fast and easy!

Yellow, green and purple combine for a quick project suitable for Mardi Gras, or a springtime table topper or mini quilt.

Begin by sewing strips of fabric in this order, purple, green, purple, yellow. The strips are 2-1/2 inches wide x the width of fabric.
Sew a second set of strips in this order - yellow, purple, yellow, yellow.

Now, cross cut in 2-1/2 inch strips into units.

Lay the block out using two of each strip set in this formation. Sew together with 1/4-inch seams.

Assemble four blocks. Then place the four blocks in the arrangement below to assemble the top. Quilt and bind as usual.

Very pretty on the table, shown here with a Battenburg runner underneath. Nice for a springtime tablescape, a mini quilt for a wall hanging, or make four units for a lullaby quilt. This is a fast and easy project, you can do from start to finish in an afternoon! Quilting is quick on any machine, and you can do the binding by machine as well, or have some hand stitching for the evening. More detailed steps are on my blog - From My Carolina Home.
