DIY Diamond Tufted Coffee Table Ottoman

I found a coffee table ottoman at an online retailer that I really liked, but the fabric wasn't quite right, the finish on the wood was all wrong for my room, and most of all, the $1238 price was way beyond what I would ever pay for an ottoman. So I decided to make one myself, with fabric and a wood finish more suited to my house, and at an 80% discount. All of the instructions can be found on the link.
My completed diamond upholstered coffee table ottoman, inspired by one I saw at Layla Grayce for over $1200.
The tufting was the hardest part, but I used a modified method that I personally think is easier for DIYers.
Building the base was the easy part using my Kreg Jig.
As a finishing detail, I added some covered upholstery cord around the edge of the upholstered top.
The tufted top took the longest, and required a lot of patience to get just right.
The finished coffee table ottoman.

  • Wow! I love it, I can't believe that you made it yourself. It looks professional.

This is a gorgeous piece of furniture! I would love to have something like this in my antique jewellery shop for the bored husbands to sit on while their wives look at diamond rings! Haha!
