Fencing suggestions? I don't know where to begin!

I have a 2 bedroom house on a 3/4 acre lot. Plenty of room for my large dog to run! The problem? No fence to keep her contained! Luckily my landlord is also a personal friend, and will allow us to fence in the entire yard...as long as it's done right, in a timely fashion ( no getting started then still not done after a year), and he doesn't have to pay for it!
I want something tastefully, not an ugly chain link fence, but I'm on a tight budget. My dog is also a jumper, so I'd need a minimum height of 5'. I don't necessarily want a privacy fence...I plan to landscape the entire yard and want to be able to show it off! (Is that conceted?) The cheapest way to go is DIY... but I have no clue where to start, past marking off the yard to make sure I don't fence in part of the neighbors' yard by mistake! Any suggestions?

Have you thought about a buried control fence (your dog wears a collar that alerts it with a warning sound when it gets to the boundaries of your yard - get one that's approved by the Humane Society). Our friend has one that works perfectly. The best part is you can dig it up and take it with you when you move. And it's going to be a lot cheaper than an actual fence.

forget the buried wire. a lot of work and if squirrels chew it your euchered . This happened to us ,luckily we found it. Purchase a radio transmitter one. A little more money but well worth it . Ours can be adjusted to a 95 foot radius.
You can also teach your dog border boundaries. I won't take more than a couple of days. Look it up on you tube.
different fencing products come in different hts- across the back of my parents property there is a 5 ft tall fence. not chain link, but little rectangles. from the lumber yard i think.....its been a few decades ago...and its still standing.....
